Join the Hackney Matters
Do you have something to say about living in Hackney? Tell us what you think by joining the Hackney Matters panel.
We would like to invite residents from all backgrounds to participate in our citizens' panel.
Hackney Matters is the Council's online panel made up of 2000 local residents who we go to when we want to get a better understanding of residents' views on local issues.
Members of the panel regularly provide feedback on issues that affect everyone living or working in the borough, such as, streets, parks, health and transport.
We are keen to recruit new members to help refresh the panel, so we can ensure it is representative of Hackney's diverse population. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence and will only be used to monitor and improve local services.
What does being a panel member involve?
You can expect regular surveys and an invite to the an annual Hackney Matters event where you’ll get to find out how your views have made a difference over the past year, meet other panel members and decision makers in Hackney. You might also occasionally be invited to take part in a few short surveys and a group discussion about an issue that we want to explore in more depth. How much you get involved is completely up to you!
The survey results help us to understand residents' views, perceptions and thoughts on a range of topics. Panel members views will be fed back to the decision makers at the Council and other statutory services that work with the Council to help improve the work we all do. We will keep you informed about future surveys and how the results are being used in a regular monthly newsletter.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
Your time is valuable to you and us and by becoming an e-panel member we want to reward you for your continued commitment. Every panel member who completes a survey will automatically be entered into a FREE prize draw and other benefits include earning reward points that can be redeemed on your local high street.
Panel members' contact details and responses will be kept secure. They will only be used by Council consultation staff or approved research organisation BDRC Market Research Ltd who work with us to manage the surveys. The information you provided will remain anonymous and will only be used for panel related activities: research, consultation, invites to events and newsletters and information about the panel.
